The Location and Role of the Car Intake Manifold

Ⅰ. About the engine intake manifold

Car engine intake manifold is located between the throttle and engine intake valve, the reason why it is called manifold, because the air into the throttle, after the manifold buffer, the air flow channel in this divergence, corresponding to the number of engine cylinders, such as four-cylinder engines have four, five-cylinder engines have five, the air into the cylinders respectively. In the case of natural intake engines, the intake manifold in car engine is located behind the throttle, so when the engine throttle is opened for a small amount of time, the cylinder can not absorb enough air, resulting in a high vacuum in the manifold; and when the engine throttle is opened for a large amount of time, the vacuum in the intake manifold will become smaller. Therefore, the injection fuel supply engine will be installed on the intake manifold a pressure gauge, supply the ECU to determine the engine load, and give the appropriate amount of oil injection.

Ⅱ. The location of the car engine intake manifold

Car engine intake manifold in the engine compartment, open the hood after you can see. The location of the intake port varies from model to model, some in front of the engine, some behind the engine, and the location and shape may vary from car to car. Intake manifold must be air, fuel mixture or clean air as evenly as possible to the various cylinders, for this reason the length of the gas flow paths in the car engine intake manifold should be as equal as possible. In order to reduce gas flow resistance, improve the intake capacity, the intake manifold wall should be smooth.

The role of the car engine intake manifold to maintain the safety of driving, which is located between the throttle and engine intake valve, is the carburetor or throttle body to the cylinder head intake before the intake pipe. The function of the car engine inlet manifold is to distribute the air and fuel mixture from the carburetor or throttle body to each cylinder intake tract.
